The 2023 INDY NXT by Firestone season continues this upcoming weekend, May 12-13, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Coming off a strong seventh-place finish just two weeks ago at Barber Motorsports Park, Christian Bogle is eager to get back to racing with HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing as the INDY NXT series helps the NTT INDYCAR SERIES kick off the famed Month of May at the Yard of Bricks.
While Indianapolis Motor Speedway has not always been an easy course for Bogle, last season saw a massive improvement for the driver of the #7 Pelican Energy entry as he was able to work his way up into the top-ten in the first race of the weekend last year. Fresh off his best result of the 2023 season, Bogle is looking to carry that momentum into Indianapolis.
Still early in the season, 12 rounds remain in the 2023 INDY NXT by Firestone championship including this weekend’s race and a return to Indianapolis Motor Speedway later in the season in August. Recently completing a test at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Bogle was well inside the top-ten before the second new tire run, which he could not complete before the day’s end.
“It was a great test in Ohio as we found some stuff that helped me in the cockpit,” added Bogle. “Hopefully what we were able to show there will transform into a strong showing at Indy.”
Sharing the track with the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Bogle and the INDY NXT field will have two days of on-track activity with practice and qualifying taking place on Friday afternoon. The green flag for the INDY NXT by Firestone Grand Prix will wave on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
