The FIA World Endurance Challenge (WEC) enters its 2024 season this weekend with the Qatar Airways Qatar 1812 KM race at Losail International Circuit. Among the 19 Hypercar entrants this season is the Isotta Fraschini Duqueine team debuting their trio of drivers including Thai-American Carl Bennett who recently competed with the Duqueine Team in the Asian Le Mans Series.

Coming off of a busy five-round season in the Asian Le Mans Series has prepared the young driver, Bennett is looking forward to a successful year with his two driving teammates, Antonio Serravalle and Jean-Karl Vernay.

“I feel very prepared heading into the season opener this weekend,” explains Bennett. “We’ve had two days of testing on track at Losail International Circuit and the adjustment to the #11 Tipo 6 Competizione Hypercar has been seamless thanks to the Isotta Fraschini Duqueine team. We’re intent on having a strong start to the season this weekend.”

Bennett and the team attended a two-day series test at Losail International Circuit this week ahead of the season opener with four three-hour long test sessions, a prologue to what’s to come this weekend. The team kept a steady speed throughout running 58 laps across the two-day test with the top three speeds on the time charts. Surely, the team will look to keep it up for the three-day race event this coming weekend.

The race weekend will kick off with two practice sessions on Thursday followed by one final practice session and a four-part qualifying session on Friday. Saturday will see the green flag for the first race in the FIA World Endurance Championship at 11:00 AM local time (GMT+3). A live stream of all weekend action can be found here.
