Launching their team less than five months ago, Canadian Antonio Serravalle gave Pserra Racing their best career Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires result this past weekend. Taking on the 4.014-mile Road America facility in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, Serravalle drove forward six positions in Saturday’s action to earn a sixth-place result before adding another top-ten on Sunday
“It was definitely a good day for us and everyone in the team deserved a result like this for the hard work and effort they have put forth,” explained Serravalle. “We are competing against some very big names and stiff competition so to keep improving and keep working our way forward helps us build momentum for the future.”
After qualifying twelfth for both rounds nine and ten at Road America, Serravalle avoided turn one contact in the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend to gain two spots immediately. Keeping his head down and turning consistent race laps, the young Canadian took advantages of situations that were presented to him and earned his best Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires result finishing sixth.
Back to the track Sunday and rolling off the grid from the outside of row six, Serravalle was able to earn his second top-ten result of the weekend with a tenth-place finish, scooping up some additional points towards the championship.
Serravalle continued, “We cannot underestimate the work that this team has put in. We have gone out and hired some key people and that is paying off. We were a little off in Detroit but rebounded this past weekend at Road America and that is what it takes. With another goal checked off the list, we will reevaluate and aim even higher at Mid-Ohio in less than two weeks’ time.
There is no rest for Serravalle and his Pserra Racing team as it is another quick turnaround before the next event weekend. Returning to their home base in Indianapolis, the crew will get to work to turn the car around and head to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course next Tuesday for a Promoters Test Day on Wednesday. Racing over the Fourth of July weekend, Serravalle hopes to continue the momentum as the season rounds the corner into the second half of the twenty-race schedule.
