After a dominant showing at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course earlier this month, brothers Gabriel and Ayrton Cahan are geared up and ready to take on Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PittRace) this weekend for Round Three of the Formula Race Promotions season. The brothers will once again compete in both the F1600 Championship Series and will focus solely on the non-winged class this weekend.
In the previous round, the Cahan brothers delivered a near-sweep across both categories, with Ayrton clinching two wins and a second-place finish in F1600, while Gabriel notched a win and multiple podiums. In the Atlantic class, the pair consistently ran at the front, with Gabriel grabbing back-to-back second-place finishes and Ayrton staying close behind in the top-four throughout the weekend.
“Mid-Ohio was a huge confidence boost for me,” explained Gabriel Cahan. “We’ve been putting in the work as a team, and to see the results show up across two series was incredible. Pittsburgh has always been a track I enjoy, so I’m really looking forward to what we can accomplish this weekend.”
Ayrton Cahan added, “I’m proud of what Gabriel and I accomplished at Mid-Ohio, but now it’s time to turn the page and stay focused. Pittsburgh presents a different challenge, and we’re ready to take it on. The goal is simple: keep the momentum going and keep fighting for wins.”
The brothers will hit the 2.78-mile, 19-turn circuit in Wampum, Pennsylvania on Friday for practice, before rolling into qualifying and racing on Saturday and Sunday. With both drivers sitting high in the championship standings across their respective classes, all eyes will be on the Cahan duo as they return to the track this weekend.
