The Cahan Racing Team is set to take on the legendary Watkins Glen International this weekend for the next round of the Formula Race Promotions (FRP) season. Brothers Ayrton and Gabriel Cahan will continue their fierce sibling rivalry as they lead the F1600 championship, currently sitting first and second, respectively, in the points standings. The brothers aim to widen their gap from the rest of the field while maintaining their friendly yet fierce competition for the top spot.
Watkins Glen, often referred to as “The Glen,” is a 3.4-mile, 11-turn road course known for its flowing layout, high-speed corners, and dramatic elevation changes. The circuit has long been a favorite of racers around the world and is rich in history. This weekend promises to deliver plenty of excitement as the F1600 class takes to one of North America’s most iconic racetracks.
“We’ve had some incredible battles so far this season, and it’s pushed both of us to become better drivers,” explained Gabriel Cahan. “Watkins Glen is a place where you need to be perfect every lap, and I’m looking forward to taking on the challenge.”
Ayrton Cahan echoed his brother’s excitement, adding, “This is one of my favorite tracks, and it suits my driving style well. Ayrton and I have been working hard to stay ahead of the field, and I can’t wait to keep building momentum this weekend.”
The action will begin with open testing on Friday morning to get the cars dialed in, followed by official practice sessions Friday afternoon. Saturday will feature both qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel race of the weekend. The event will wrap up Sunday with a doubleheader, giving the Cahan brothers three chances to add to their already impressive season resumes.
Fans can follow every session and stay up to date with live timing through the Race Monitor app as the brothers and their Cahan Racing Team chase more championship glory.
