BRYSON MORRIS AND TEAM WIN AT THE NURBURGRING 24 HOURS AFTER AMERICAN EARNS POLE POSITION

What was expected to be an intense 24-hour race at Nurburgring this weekend turned out to be less than a ten-hour battle due to inclement weather conditions. Winners of the TCR class in the #831 Target Competition car, drivers Bryson Morris, Mark Wilkins, Mason Fillipi, and Harry Gottsacker turned their pole position into a trip to victory lane for the North American driving quartet in Germany.

Early on, Bryson Morris and the team driving in the Target Competition car showed top speeds in their class. Keeping consistent in qualifying, the #831, driven by Bryson Morris at the time, scored the pole position for the upcoming 24-hour race. After about eight hours of intense racing, a thick cloud of fog took over the track, suspending the race until 1:30 PM on Sunday. After the minimum number of laps was reached, it was determined that Morris and the rest of the #831 Target Competition team were the winners in a history-making event.

“Man, what a weekend,” expressed Morris. “The team was on it all weekend; we had the speed and we were able to follow through for the win. It sucks we didn’t get the true 24-hour race we were preparing for, but a win is a win! I want to express my gratitude to Target Competition and the Bryan Herta Autosport team for giving me this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to joining the team again back on American soil at Mid-Ohio this weekend to compete for a podium in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.”

Morris will now gear up to compete in the #77 car with Taylor Hagler and Bryan Herta Autosport this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, June 7-9, for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Four Hours of Mid-Ohio IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge event.
