BOGLE SALVAGES DECENT RESULT IN NASHVILLE BUT LOOKS TO BETTER THAT FINISH IN INDY

This past weekend, Christian Bogle raced through the streets of Nashville in the INDY NXT by Firestone Music City Grand Prix. The ninth race of the 2023 season, the event marked the final street course race of the year. Earlier this year, Bogle earned his season-best result of fifth on the Streets of Detroit Race 1 while his career-best result came last year with a fourth-place finish on the Streets of Belle Isle. With a natural ability to succeed on street circuits, Bogle was confident heading into the weekend.

In the two practice sessions, Bogle finished ninth and 12th, however, after qualifying was rained out, he was forced to take to the grid in 16th based on entrant points so far this season. With speed that exceeded his starting position, Bogle took the green flag as he battled for position. Just past the halfway point of the 35-lap race, Bogle drove slightly off of the racing line and made contact with the wall. Undeterred, Bogle’s #7 HMD Motorsports crew quickly replaced his front wing under caution and he was able to return to the track on the lead lap. Restarting from the 18th position, Bogle was able to make up six positions to finish the race in 12th. Moving up in the championship to 13th, Bogle now sits 19 points outside of the top-ten.

“Not the best weekend and I thought our race was over due to heavy contact with the wall,” explained Bogle. “Fortunately, while there was a lot of damage, the HMD Motorsports crew went to work to get me back on track and complete the full race distance.”

After a busy weekend in Nashville, Bogle and HMD Motorsports will quickly turn the cars around for the next event as they head back to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a one-day showdown for round ten of the INDY NXT by Firestone championship. As part of Brickyard Weekend, INDY NXT will share the track with the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Cup Series. With a full weekend schedule, Christian Bogle and INDY NXT will have just Friday to complete their practice and qualifying sessions before taking the green flag on Friday afternoon for the INDY NXT by Firestone Grand Prix at Indianapolis.
