With the end of the 2023 season nearing, Black Sheep Racing (BSR) is traveling halfway across the country to compete in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin this weekend. Set to battle the famed 4.048-mile, 14-turn, natural-terrain road course, BSR’s Kenton King and Laura Ely will aim to add to their 2023 podium total and build momentum to finish their season strong.

In a year of growth that has seen Black Sheep Racing add Salt Pepper Oak and Vezer Family Vineyard to their partner and trackside experience program, as well as add to both their Driver Development and Diversity Driver efforts, BSR shifts their focus this weekend in the effort to add additional podium and race-winning results to their resume. With King and Ely both back in action, the duo who have already claimed podium results this season will shoot for more in The Dairy State.

“It has been a good year both on and off the track,” explained BSR’s Business Development Manager Chris Stiffler. “We have grown our partner program and added to our crew. We have continued to expand our Driver Development efforts with the addition of a couple of female drivers which goes hand in hand with what we are trying to do for the sport. On the track, both Kenton and Laura have had success which helps support our growth and hopes to add more drivers later this year and onwards into the 2024 season.”

Focusing on the task at hand this weekend, the traditional race event format will return with a pair of practice sessions on Friday before qualifying and race one on Saturday. The wheel-to-wheel action continues Sunday with the second of two races on the weekend.
