The Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West by Yokohama kicks off its 2024 season at sunny Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, a newer stop to the series about an hour from the famed Las Vegas strip. This marks the second year in a row the PSC USA West has competed on the Nevada circuit and the second consecutive season that the picturesque venue will host the season-opening event weekend.

Well-known veterans of the paddock and former Series Champions, Black Sheep Racing, will return to the series with 2022 991 Champion and 2023 992 Am Vice-Champion Laura Ely who will pilot the #209 Porsche GT3 in the talent-filled 992 Masters class for the full six-round season.

“I’m looking forward to the 2024 season,” explained Laura Ely. “We were so close last year claiming runner-up in both the Driver and Team Championships, and we will be pushing harder than ever to stay on top, and that all starts with having a strong opening round to the season at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch this weekend.”

Returning for her second year in the 992 Masters class, Laura is no stranger to the podium, taking home a pair of wins and seven additional podium results in her second PSC West season. Laura Ely never finished lower than fourth in any of her races in 2023 and is poised to make a run at the 992 Masters class title in 2024.

“This year we aren’t starting the season with a new car like last season,” explained Chris Stiffler. “As our 2023 season-ending results showed, the car is now sorted and fast. Last year we had some teething issues to sort out but not this year, and Laura should be strong right out of the box after pre-season testing got her prepared. We expect to do well.”

The season opener will consist of two practice sessions followed by a single qualifying session and a pair of wheel-to-wheel races on Saturday and Sunday. All races this season can be streamed on the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama YouTube page HERE.
