BLACK SHEEP RACING IS BACK AT IT THIS WEEKEND AT VIR

Already obtaining multiple podium results this season, Black Sheep Racing will be back on track for the next round in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America program at the famed Virginia International Raceway (VIR). Bringing a pair of drivers across the country to race in their fourth event of 2022, Laura Ely will look to keep her podium streak alive as Kenton King aims for the top step of the podium.

“It has been a terrific season to date, and we will be looking for more results this weekend at VIR,” explained BSR’s Chris Stiffler. “Laura is entering the event on a high after adding a pair of podium results to her resume in Miami and Kenton is always a contender. The goals are set high this weekend, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we have four podium results come Sunday.”

While Ely and King will pilot the two Black Sheep Racing Porsches in the 991 class, Steve Ayers will be forced to miss the event. A member of the BSR squad, Ayers is recovering from an injury.

Stiffler added, “We normally have three drivers so it will be a little different to only have two. We wish Steve a speedy recovery, and we cannot wait to see him at the track soon and are dedicating our race weekend to him!”

Set to hit the track on Friday afternoon for three practice sessions, Saturday will see Black Sheep Racing’s Ely and King qualify in the morning before the first wheel-to-wheel race that afternoon. Sunday will be the home of race two as BSR will aim to keep their podium momentum going in their second East Coast event as their season will cross the halfway mark when the checkered flag waves on Sunday, June 5.
