Traveling to the famed Sonoma Raceway in Napa County, California, Black Sheep Racing and Laura Ely will look to cap the season off strong and build momentum for a successful 2025 campaign. Downsizing to a single entry for the final event of 2024, Black Sheep Racing and Laura Ely enter the weekend second in the championship points chase in the 992 Masters class.
“It is a home-state race for us and the final event of the 2024 season,” explained Ely. “We will aim to finish the season like we started it, with a win, and see where we land in the championship points chase.”
Competing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West by Yokohama 992 Masters class, Ely sits second in the championship standings, nine markers ahead of the third-place competitor. Needing a miracle to claim the class championship, the focus is to perform well and garner the results needed to earn the 992 Masters Vice Championship honors.
Ely added, “We have had a good season, and as it is in racing, a lot of ups and downs. We want nothing more than to finish the season on the podium’s top step for myself, the team, and all of our partners.”
With a long event weekend, Black Sheep racing and Laura Ely will hit the track Wednesday and Thursday for a total of four test sessions before the official race weekend kicks off Friday. We will see a pair of practice sessions on Friday, with Saturday reserved for qualifying and race one. The second race of the weekend and final one of the season will roll off the grid Sunday afternoon. A complete weekend schedule can be found here.
