16-year-old Belle River native Roman De Angelis will make his debut at the famed Sebring Raceway this weekend, driving the #78 Mark Motors Porsche GT3. Having been recently signed as a Mark Motors driver, De Angelis will take to the track Thursday and Friday for two 45-minute races.

At only 16 years of age, De Angelis will be the youngest Canadian to ever compete in the GT3 cup series.

“I am really excited to get the season started,” explained De Angelis. “The Porsche GT3 Cup program is something that I have been building for and to finally have the opportunity to compete with a high powered operation is a dream come true.”

Competing in the Ontario F1600 series in 2016 has prepared the young Canadian for this opportunity as he was able to gain valuable experience under the tutelage of Brian Graham of Brian Graham Racing. Looking to continue his F1600 career in 2017, De Angelis will gain even more experience this week in the biggest event of his bright and young career.

De Angelis continued, “I cannot thank everyone enough who has made this dream become a reality for me. I look to make not only my team proud, but also my parents and marketing partners.”
