Currently sitting second and third in the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America Pro 1340 championship point standings, the father and son duo of Seth and Jace Bacon are ready to tackle Road America this weekend. Taking on the picturesque Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin facility, the Bacons will be part of a five-driver-strong Crown Racing program as they look to utilize teammates to ensure success for the entire program.
Earning accolades at the Apex Motor Club Series including the 2022 Vice Championship and Rookie of the Year honors, Jace Bacon is traveling for the first time to Road America. Despite being 13 points behind his father and 17 markers away from the point leader, Jace is confident as the series will cross over the halfway mark this weekend.
“We had a great event at NOLA and a not-so-good one at Barber,” explained Jace Bacon. “I now know exactly what to expect from teams and competitors in the series as well as the high competition level. Road America is one of those tracks that can really provide a turning point for a season, and I look to get back to the top step of the podium, especially in front of all the INDYCAR folk whom we are sharing the track with.”
Seth Bacon added, “I am proud of Jace and the steps forward he has taken in the past 12 months. From a local-level race winner to climbing to the top step of the North American podium, I think he has what it takes to be a professional in the world of motorsports. While we battle wheel-to-wheel on track, we are very respectful to one another when behind the wheel and always look to help one another when possible.”
Sharing the track with the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, INDY NXT by Firestone, and two-thirds of the USF Pro Championships ladder program, Road America will play the host to a ton of wheel-to-wheel races this weekend including one each day, Friday through Sunday for Jace and Seth Bacon.
A four-day event schedule will provide for an extra two on track sessions as Blue Marble Radical Cup North America drivers will receive an additional pair of test sessions on Thursday. Friday will lead into official practice before qualifying and race one with races two and three on Saturday and Sunday.
