Entering the second to last weekend on the SRO Motorsports Group promoted GT4 America program, GMG Racing driver Jason Bell will be back pulling double duty. Taking place at the 4.014-mile Road America circuit in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, Bell will see action in both Sprint and SprintX competition behind the wheel of his #2 Porsche Cayman.
“I really enjoy Road America and have had both success and heartbreak here in the past,” explains Bell. “We had four top-ten finishes at the last event weekend in Watkins Glen, so hopefully we can carry that momentum into this event. I think that both Road America and our event at Watkins Glen will take a similar setup and driving style, so I am pretty confident that we will unload pretty close to what is needed for our race setup.”
Once again piloting a pair of Porsche Caymans, Bell will see action in the single driver Sprint division while he will join forces with Alec Udell in the SprintX category. Aiming for the top step of the podium, Bell is just hoping to leave Road America unscathed.
“Last year, we had a great race on Saturday finishing well, but Sunday proved to have a few issues and left with a wrecked racecar,” continues Bell. “I do not want to do that again this year. I have a great team behind me, a solid co-driver in Alec Udell and more experience with each passing weekend so there is no excuse on why we could not continue our string of top-ten finishes in 2019.”
With penultimate round competition commencing on Friday for practice, qualifying will take place on Saturday morning with race one on the weekend that afternoon. Race two will take the green flag on Sunday morning. Stay tuned to the Jason Bell social media pages for up-to-date news, information, photos and results from the event weekend.
