ARIEL CASTRO SHIFTS FOCUS TO AM ENGINES

With the landscape constantly changing in North American karting, Ariel Castro has continually evolved and changed with the times. Shifting his focus in 2020 from his AM Racing Team to solely on his AM Engines program, Castro has decided to return and focus on the engine building side of karting. Producing horsepower for the past few seasons for drivers within his own race team, AM Engines will expand their operations and have engines for any driver in any class on any brand of chassis competing with any team.

“I really enjoy the engine building and preparation side of the sport,” expressed Ariel Castro. “There are so many teams in karting now that it is difficult to grow your own brand as a race team. Focusing on the engines, I can have an association with many different drivers and race teams around the country.”

The AM Engines program took a back seat but never went away when the AM Racing Team was formed a few years ago. In 2020 and beyond, AM Engines will focus on the national level side of karting while also providing support to the regional and local level programs.

“The AM Engines side of the program lost some customers when I formed by team,” added Castro. “I believe people were worried that I was not going to produce the power they needed to win if they were not in my program, which was never the case. Now, I have ruled that out and look forward to returning to the top step of the podium as an engine builder.”

AM Engines is already producing winning power for some of North America’s top karting drivers and programs. With a focus on the national level ROK Cup USA, Superkarts! USA, United States Pro Kart Series and World Karting Association programs, AM Engines will also take care of the local and regional level customers as the trackside support program is reintroduced.
