With the 2018 karting season now upon us, Speed Concepts Racing is please to announce that Arias Deukmedjian has joined the one of a kind program. Making the switch from a privateer effort to a team based setting, Deukmedjian will look to take advantage of the driver coaching and race winning formula that Speed Concepts Racing has become known for in the past twelve months.
“Arias has been one of those drivers that I have always had my eye on,” explained Mike Speed. “He is young, very talented and even though they raced out of their own operation without team support, he has always had the speed to win. I am very happy to have him racing with us and not against us in 2018. Welcome to the team Arias!”
Hailing from the state of Florida and working with Alex Speed in 2017, the Deuk Spine Institute backed driver will now pilot a Speed Concepts Racing prepared Tony Kart in 2018. Set to compete at the popular winter karting programs including the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Florida Winter Series and the ROK Cup Promotions Florida Winter Tour, Deukmedjian will also see competition in select Rotax and European karting events in the upcoming season.
Deukmedjian will join fellow Speed Concepts Racing Junior drivers Tyler Gonzalez, Kyffin Simpson and Justin Arseneau as well as Mini drivers Paul Bocuse, Alex Powell and Noah Baker to all but complete a stout lineup of competitors.
Speed continued, “2017 was a good rookie season for us but we are looking for more race wins, podiums and championships in 2018. I believe that our driver lineup is one of the best in North American karting and our support staff is second to none. I can’t wait to get started.”
Fresh off a race winning weekend at the World Karting Association Manufacturers Cup program only a week ago as well as a solid test this past weekend at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex in Homestead, Florida this past weekend, Speed Concepts Racing will embark on two weeks of racing beginning this weekend. With the inaugural round of the SKUSA Florida Winter Series set to take place this coming weekend, SCR branded drivers will then make the trek 100 miles north to kick off their 2018 Florida Winter Tour campaign.
