With hopes dashed of a hometown event with the cancellation of the Toronto event, Canadian Antonio Serravalle will enter the Detroit Grand Prix this coming weekend in his makeshift home race. With travel restrictions between Canada and the United States still being enforced, Serravalle will be able to see his homeland while competing in rounds seven and eight of the IndyLights Presented by Cooper Tires.

“I am really looking forward to being back on a street course this weekend,” explained Serravalle. “My best result of the season came in St. Pete so I feel that this could be another solid weekend for us. Additionally, not one driver on the grid has competed here in the past so it is an equal and level playing field for everyone which could be an advantage for a smaller program like ours.”

Competing under the Pserra Racing banner, Serravalle continues to progress through his rookie season. Making the move from karting straight to the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires in 2019, last year saw a pieced together schedule for the now eighteen-year-old who was out of the seat for much of the Covid-stricken 2020

Serravalle added, “I think we are doing well for a team that was pieced together thirty days before the start of the season and racing against drivers that were in cars a lot in 2020. I know we are lacking a teammate that I can learn from as well as push the team, but we are working on that for the future.”

“I am proud of everyone that is in the Pserra Racing effort,” explained Team Owner Peter Serravalle. “Antonio is a Rookie; in fact, the whole team is lacking the experience compared to others but sometimes it is good to be an underdog. As we move forward through the season and look onwards into 2022, we will look to add experienced staff as well as an additional car, maybe even before the end of the season.”

With official on track action beginning on Friday June 11th, Serravalle will aim to improve his career best finish from earlier this season while completing full race distances in both wheel-to-wheel races on the weekend.

Antonio Serravalle would like to thank all of his partners for the help and support to get the 2021 season off the ground as without them, none of this would be possible. A huge thanks to LedgeMark Homes / livgreen, Tycoon Capital Limited, TriBrik, Camptech ll Circuits, Coshore, Ferrari & Associates, Scuderia Ferrari Club Canada, Med-Scan and Sabelt.
