In a last-minute deal, Canadian Antonio Serravalle will enter this weekend’s Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires event. Joining Abel Motorsports for the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Serravalle will return to Indy Lights for 2022 and look to build off a privateer effort from the 2021 season that saw him compete with his father owned Pserra Racing program.
“I am excited and anxious to get going and thank everyone from Abel Motorsports in helping put this deal together,” expressed Antonio Serravalle. “Just like last year, we will be going into the start of the season with no testing, but I know Abel has the right people in the right places and I am ready to go.”
Competing as a privateer in 2021, Antonio Serravalle and his Pserra Racing outfit showed speed in the select events that they competed in. Running against the bigger programs, Serravalle was able to hold his own scoring a handful of top-ten results.
Serravalle added, “We were speaking to a few different teams but ultimately Abel Motorsports was the program willing to put something together, and I look forward to trying to reward them with a good result. I know the odds are stacked against us for sure but if we can leave St. Pete unscathed and with a good finish, we have a big gap before the next race and multiple opportunities to test.”
