It is a split squad weekend for Team Crosslink as the Texas based program will have a presence in both Wisconsin and Florida. Taking on the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) Badger State Grand Prix at Road America, the Team Crosslink karting contingent will be gunning for race wins and podium results in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin while F4 United States Championship and FR Americas drivers Jose Blanco and Joshua Car will take part in an SCCA Regional event at the Sebring International Raceway.
“Logistically it takes a big effort to make these weekends work. It is not the first, nor the last time that we will be forced to do it,” explained Team Manager Sean Owens. “Fortunately, I have a great crew behind me that all go the extra mile to ensure that we are not only prepared, but successful as well. While our karters are competing for championship points, Jose and Josh are using the event weekend to get up to speed to compete at the same facility, albeit on a different track layout, at the end of the month.”
Starting at the top of the USPKS class structure pyramid, Team Crosslink will enter Ryan Shehan in the X30 Pro class. Showing success in regional competition and having the speed to compete nationally, Shehan will be looking to turn his horrible luck from the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour around in Wisconsin and stand on the podium.
Multi-time 2020 national level podium winner Alex Stanfield has thrown his hat into the mix in X30 Junior along with Team Crosslink’s Aden Rudolph. Stanfield has been on a tear as of late leading the way for the Crosslink Junior driver program. With a podium at the SKUSA Pro Tour and consistent finishes in the top-five, Stanfield will look to do the same at Road America. Rudolph, a rookie in the Junior class, is gaining experience each passing lap. Son of legendary kart racer Alan Rudolph, Aden is looking to make a name for himself and there is no better place to start than The Dairy State.
