Alliance Racing kicked off its 2026 campaign this past weekend at Sebring International Raceway during the opening round of Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, fielding three entries across the Pro, Pro/Am, and Lamborghini Cup classes.
In the Pro class, Ernie Francis Jr. delivered one of the standout drives of the weekend in the #28 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2. Starting from eighth position in Race One, Francis Jr. executed a measured and aggressive charge through the field to secure a third-place podium finish. In Race Two, he continued to show a competitive pace and brought the car home in eighth place to complete a solid points haul for the weekend.
In a development over the weekend, Francis was set to drive with Luke Berkley, who came down with the flu and was taken to the hospital for an IV. Not being cleared to race, Francis drove solo over the weekend. What made his Race Two result a solid performance was, due to Berkely’s withdrawal and Francis not qualifying the car, Francis was forced to overcome a drive through penalty, dropping him to the tail of the field, before driving forward to finish eighth.
The Pro/Am pairing of Jack William Miller and Angelo Dinkov demonstrated strong teamwork and consistency across both races. The duo finished sixth in Race One before improving to fifth in Race Two, narrowly missing the class podium while continuing to build momentum as a driver lineup.
In the Lamborghini Cup class, Rodin Younessi showed steady pace throughout the event. Younessi secured a ninth-place finish in Race One and followed it up with a strong recovery drive in Race Two to claim the sixth position in class.
Team owner Tony Edwards praised the overall performance and resilience shown by the team and its drivers during the demanding Sebring weekend.
“We are very pleased with how the team performed at Sebring. Ernie’s drive from eighth to third in Race One was exceptional, and both the Pro/Am and Lamborghini Cup programs showed consistent improvement across the weekend,” explained Edwards. “Sebring is one of the toughest tracks on the calendar, so to leave with a podium and strong finishes in all three classes is a great way to start the season.”
Alliance Racing will now shift its focus to the second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season, which will take place May 1-3 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The technical and historic Laguna Seca circuit will present a new set of challenges for the team as it looks to build on the positive momentum generated at the season opener and continue its push across all three classes in the championship standings.
