After a very successful month of January that saw the Orlando based team claim all three junior victories across two different winter karting programs, Speed Concepts Racing is back to action this coming weekend for rounds three and four of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Winter Series. Back to South Florida and the AMR Motorplex, the Tony Kart program will return to the Homestead facility, but with a different track direction to close out the series.
“We kicked off the year in style and are currently undefeated in Junior competition in 2019,” explained Mike Speed. “Luke Lange and Justin Arseneau claimed X30 Junior wins in January while Luca Mars made it three for three with his victory in the ROK Junior class. We are going to try and carry that momentum into our events this month and see what we can make of it.”
Lange and Mars currently sit 1-2 atop the X30 Junior point standings as Arseneau puts three Speed Concepts Racing drivers in the top-ten. All three will return to the Homestead, Florida facility in the quest for more race wins in 2019. Kyffin Simpson will also be back behind the wheel of a Speed Concepts Racing prepared Tony Kart as he will complete the junior quartet in the X30 Junior class, but will also see action in the KA100 Junior category.
Paul Bocuse and Noah Baker will fly the Speed Concepts Racing colors in IAME Mini Swift as the duo look to keep pace with their junior teammates. With both drivers showing pace in January, Baker currently sits sixth in the championship points battle after two events while Bocuse is just outside the top-ten. Always a threat for race wins and podium results, Noah and Paul will utilize experience gained from January, to make a run at victories in February as they continue to work with Driver Coach Alex Speed.
A consistent drive from Scott Roberts in January netted him a pair of third place podium results, and that is the position he sits in the X30 Masters Championship points battle. Entering the final event weekend of the four race series, Roberts looks to put it all on the line in his attempt to top the podium blocks.
Speed added, “February is just as busy as January but we have a great team around our drivers and we are all working towards success.”
With unofficial practice taking place on Thursday, official sessions will commence on Friday morning before two complete race days both Saturday and Sunday. With daily podiums happening at the end of each day, the Superkarts! USA Winter Series Championship Podium and Awards will take place at the end of the day on Sunday.
Speed Concepts Racing will continue to sell their team chassis after each and every event weekend. With multiple 2018 chassis available for purchase, interested parties are asked to contact Speed Concepts Racing for more information.
