Rolling through the 2022 race season, Supertune driver Jorge Ortiz is set for another weekend of competition. Set to take on the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex on the grounds of the famed Road America, the Tony Kart driver will battle in the X30 Pro Junior class as he looks to add to his results resume.

“The track at Road America is similar to a street circuit as not a lot of people come here and test, so the playing field is a little more equal,” explained Ortiz. “For me, the goal is simple. I want to win, podium, and provide the best results possible for my partners, my team and myself.”

A front-runner in the top series throughout North America, Ortiz is a multi-time race winner this season and a threat for the top step of the podium every time he hits the track. The Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America provides a new challenge for the young Ortiz, but he is anxious and excited to prove his abilities in one of the toughest classes in North American karting.

Ortiz added, “I currently sit fifth in the USPKS national point standings and need a good run this weekend to have a shot at the title during the final event weekend. I have been more consistent as a driver but have not had that big result that I need for a few extra points. I am hoping that comes this weekend.”

With 892 points, 194 markers behind the current championship leader, Ortiz would like nothing but a pair of wins at Road America to rocket his way up the point standings.

With on track action beginning today, a second test day will take place tomorrow before wheel-to-wheel action commences over the weekend with two separate race days as round five of the 2022 USPKS takes place on Saturday with round six on Sunday.
