17-YEAR-OLD HAYDEN BRADLEY CONTINUES TO TURN HEADS IN SPORTSCAR RACING

The fast-rising motorsports talent Hayden Bradley of St Petersburg, Florida continues to impress in his first rounds of sportscar races in the 2022 World Racing League (WRL) season. The 17-year-old recently signed with Colorado Springs, Colorado-based Pinnacle Motorsports to contest his first race of 2022 in the GTO class at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin’s famed Road America in May followed by the Daytona International Speedway in June, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in July, and most recently, High Plains Raceway in Deer Trail, Colorado earlier in August.

After completing a successful sophomore season in the Lucas Oil Formula Car Championship Series in 2021 that included eight podium results and nine top-five finishes, Bradley was sidelined for the first few months of 2022 anticipating his next opportunity. Bradley’s big break came in May when a last-minute seat became available at Road America due to a driver leaving for the European World Endurance Challenge (WEC) program.  With a recommendation from a pair of professional drivers who have mentored Bradley, Pinnacle Motorsports team owner Travis Smith extended an opportunity for the 17-year-old to fill the vacant seat.

Bradley did not disappoint, demonstrating excellent race-craft, turning fast and consistent lap times, and gaining multiple positions on track in each of the four race events to date.

Back in May at Road America, Bradley charged up through the field from a 16th place starting position, gaining eight spots to run P8 during his stint and finish inside the top-ten in his GTO debut. In July’s event at the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Bradley recorded the fourth fastest lap of the race in a field that featured 66 race cars and brought the #727 Pinnacle Motorsports Porsche Cayman GT4 into the pits in the top-five after completing his two-hour stint to start the race.

At the recent High Plains Raceway event, Bradley successfully battled against top talent at the front of the field maintaining both the GTO class and overall race lead for the entire first hour of the wheel-to-wheel action. Again, setting one of the top lap times of the day, Bradley contributed his efforts to an overall fourth place result for the team in the eight-hour race.

“It’s been great to have Hayden join our driver lineup, and we’re looking forward to challenging for podiums the rest of this season,” expressed Pinnacle Motorsports Team Owner Travis Smith. “We’re all very encouraged by Hayden’s performance since joining Pinnacle Motorsports. To be incredibly fast and consistent at major tracks like Road America, Daytona, and Road Atlanta isn’t easy and to do it against such a competitive GTO field is extremely impressive. Hayden is already delivering results at a very high level and has an extremely bright future in motorsports ahead of him.”

Smith continued, “This is our first year as a team in the WRL Series, but we operate at a high level with a combination of experienced IMSA and SRO crew chiefs, engineers, and crew who have been part of a championship-winning LMP3 program. We are well positioned for success, and we’re confident that Hayden will help us to do just that. We expect him to continue to rise to the challenge and get the job done,” said Smith.

Team Engineer/Strategist Ryan Neff (Zebulon MSC) shared his thoughts about the young up-and-coming driver. “Hayden has been an excellent young driver addition to our team, not only because he is already quite fast behind the wheel, but he has a rare and intense ambition to learn the ins and outs of sportscar racing and how to be a better driver. We are excited to help him develop his talent and expect to see great things from him in his budding racing career.”

“It’s been incredible to have the opportunity to race at all these amazing tracks in the #727 Pinnacle Motorsports Cayman GT4. Travis and the entire team he has assembled are all incredibly talented and very serious about winning. I’ve enjoyed working with motorsports industry leaders like Travis (Smith) and Ryan (Neff). They have so much knowledge and experience to share and spend as much time with you as possible to help you get better in every race. I’ve also benefitted from the chance to co-drive with John Dean, which has given me a chance to learn something new at every race. Travis’s program has allowed me to extract the most out of the racecar and myself.  I’m excited to be a part of the Pinnacle Motorsports momentum, and I have no doubt we will continue to challenge for podiums.” said Bradley. “I’m extremely grateful to Travis. Opportunities like this are rare, and when they do happen, we have to make them count for everyone involved, and I intend to continue to do just that.”

Hayden Bradley is currently scheduled to pilot the #727 Pinnacle Motorsports Porsche Cayman GT4 in the WRL GTO class in upcoming races at the VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) September 2-4 in Alton, Virginia, Sebring International Raceway October 28-30 in Sebring, Florida, and at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas December 2-4.
