With the final event of the 2022 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship taking place this weekend at the famed Portland International Raceway (PIR), a new face will be on the grid for VRD Racing. Making the move from the USF Juniors Presented by Cooper Tires to the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship, Ethan Ho will make his series debut and take part in the triple-header finale race weekend.

“We would like to formally welcome Ethan to the team,” expressed VRD Racing’s Dan Mitchell. “Ethan has experience with a few different programs in open-wheel racing and a couple of different series, but we can provide him what he needs to accelerate his career.”

Competing in the 2021 Formula Pro USA Western Championship and several events in the USF Juniors series this season, Ho comes from the karting ranks where he was a multi-time race winner in some of North America’s most premier programs.

Mitchell added, “It is always difficult coming into a new series right at the end of the season and racing against competitors that have been on track all year, but I am confident in Ethan’s abilities and our structure that we will have around him. This is a good start for his 2023 efforts and gets some additional on-track time in a top-tier program.”

“I am ready to go,” explained Ho. “My goal is to climb the motorsports ladder, and I have taken those initial steps this season. I am very thankful for the opportunity provided by VRD and look forward to performing at the highest level possible.”

With all USF2000 drivers hitting the track for a pair of Promoters Test sessions, the first official practice of the weekend will be Thursday afternoon. Friday will feature a jam-packed day with qualifying and two wheel-to-wheel races along with the autograph session between the two races. Saturday will be the championship decider and the final race of 2022.
